Questions You May Have
1. What on earth do we wear?
The BIGGEST Question I always get! I know it's stressful! But don't worry, upon booking your session I send outfit guides that go into all the details of what I suggest and the reasons why.
2. What if the weather is sucky? What if we need to reschedule?
Weather can be unpredictable, especially in New England. Shoots proceed as long as it is not raining! If it rains, and you are not feeling inspired to try a rainy outdoor shoot, we can try to reschedule for the next closest date available. But remember upon signing the contract, if you do not reschedule and end up as a no call, no show, no reschedule, your downpayment will not be returned. Ways to avoid this could be to plan in home or studio sessions (additional fees apply to studio rentals).
3. What is the best time of day to photograph during?
Golden hour! For outdoor times, an hour before sunset gives the perfect lighting to play with sun flares and capture some great skin tones without the squinty eyes! BUT be sure to think of your children happiest times of the day as well.
If your session is indoors then natural light among the house is THE BEST. But I can work without it as well! This may be a time when we need to book these sessions during the day time when the sun is at its highest and not creating direct sunlight through the windows.
4. I always feel awkward in front of the camera...
Unless you grew up with a camera in your face you are more than likely feeling apprehensive about booking a Portrait session. Photographers like me have tips and tricks to getting you comfortable. There is no "look here and say cheese" for ten minutes, it's all about the prompts to get you moving and laughing and then just when you least expect it a real smile comes across your face and I'll be there to get it. And listen, I want you to feel comfortable with me. If you were to ask my friends about me they would say I am one of the least judgmental people they know.
And hey, if we need to grab a glass of wine or a beer before the session I am alllllll here for it.
5. Can I bring my own props and extra clothes?
YES! Absolutely! I love options and creativity!
6. Can we travel to a destination?
Per your contract you will see that after a 30 mile range outside of Dover NH there will be a travel fee. This will be discussed with you prior to finalizing a destination to help keep you aware of the extra charge.
7. Can I share my photos on social media?
Yes! Please do! It's so great seeing clients excited to share the images that hold their most treasured moments. If you don't mind I would LOVE if you tagged or credited me in the captions! That helps me and my business soooo much! I can't wait to see what you share!
8. How long does it take to get my gallery?
I have about a two week turn around time for client galleries. But I will keep you updated as I go along with my process! This way you are never feeling ghosted.
